Gravy over Texas Toast/Bread

On the Menu Today~

Thanksgiving and left-overs go hand in hand.

When I was growing up,
Thanksgiving left-overs included warmed gravy over thick slices of white bread.
My mom would pour warmed left-over Thanksgiving gravy,
over thick slices of Texas Toast/Bread.
In fact, whenever we had left-over gravy, the next day,
you could count on having warmed gravy over thick slices of white bread.

This is still one of my favorite ways to indulge....

Turkey Fiesta Dip

On the Menu Today~
{Our Favorite Recipe from Last Thanksgiving}
Turkey Fiesta Dip🦃

Some recipes are worth repeating and
this one definitely is.....
Turkey Fiesta Dip is fantastic and
I can't think of a better way to use up
left-over Thanksgiving turkey, than in this dip!

We always have the usual Thanksgiving "line up" or
"family favorites"....Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy,
Pumpkin Pie, Cranberries...but every Thanksgiving,
I try to add a new recipe to the "line up"......
some recipes make the cut and
are added to the line-up next year,
while others become part of that,
"never again for Thanksgiving" list and are soon forgotten.

I am happy to say that Turkey Fiesta Dip,
made the "cut" last year and then some.
This dip is great to serve during football games,
super bowl parties and well, just because. It's that good!
Don't have left-over turkey?
No problem....pick up a rotisserie chicken!

When you are all turkeyed out and
you couldn't possibly eat another turkey sandwich...
reach for this recipe....it's a delicious way to re-invent turkey🦃

First Annual "Stir It Up Holiday Blogger Mixology Challenge"

This cocktail is our version
of that 60's classic,
the Tom Collins.

Even though the Tom Collins is a drink that is somewhat forgotten,
it's still one of my favorite summer time drinks.
Perfect to sip on a hot summer evening.
I wanted to make a "winter" version of this classic and
the Cranberry Collins was born.

Cranberry Collins is made with cranberry vodka,
instead of gin that is normally used in the classic Tom Collins.

The variations and list of ingredients are endless.
It seems every family has their favorite recipe,

using a 2 oz., stainless steel, trigger scoop,
to drop the dumpling dough into the broth mixture.
There are many different brands to chose from,

Braised Red Cabbage #SundaySupper

On the Menu Today~
Braised Red Cabbage
Good Morning and Welcome!

It's time for Sunday Supper.
This Weeks Event: Best Holiday Side Dishes
Hosted by: Renee Pajestka

This is a very old German recipe.
It was passed down to my dad,
from his mother and my grandma,
Grandma Stumpf.
I have never meet my grandma,
she had passed away before I was born.
For this reason, my dad made braised red cabbage,
each and every year for our Thanksgiving dinner...
After all, isn't that what Thanksgiving is all about?
Giving thanks for all we are thankful for and
preparing and enjoying favorite family recipes,
that have been passed down from one generation to the next.

Braised Red (Purple) Cabbage,
has that classic sweet-sour flavor,
that is a German favorite.
Making it the perfect side dish,
for your Thanksgiving Dinner.
