Nutmeg Cake and Armenian Nutmeg Cake~

Autumn is in the air and

that signals cooler temperatures and 
warm spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg,
two of my favorite spices.

Emily has shared two delicious recipes with us today.
Both recipes will surely get you into the upcoming
Autumn and Holiday baking season.

Nothing is better than a cup of hot chocolate and

a slice of delicious Nutmeg Cake.
Frost the nutmeg cakes with caramel icing,
a sprinkling of ground cinnamon or my favorite,
a dollop of nutmeg whipped cream.

Fall on Green Lake

I love this time of year~
It's so beautiful here in Northern WI~
With fall colors all around....
Reds, golds, lime greens and burnt orange~

Fall flowers...purple and rust colored mums~
Canadian geese gathering on the lake
ready for their migration flight~

The smell of burning leaves in the air..
People heading out to the farmers' markets,
gathering pumpkins and picking apples.
The sound of crunching leaves beneath their feet....
wearing warm sweaters and tartan scarves.

Comfort foods are back on the menu~
Stews and soups...Pies and Pumpkin Bread.
Apples, pears, squash and cabbage...
Caramel Apples a favorite treat.
The air is crisp and fresh.

 Life is peaceful here in Northern WI~
