Mint Juleps {For a Crowd}

Celebrates the 141st Kentucky Derby
At Churchill Downs~

Make a big Pitcher of Mint Juleps,
Put on a fancy Derby Hat and
Watch the Kentucky Derby~

Here are a few of my favorite Derby Hats from~ Lady Diane Hats

Mint Juleps For a Crowd

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 3/4 cups water
• 16 fresh mint springs, finely chopped
• 2 quarts Bourbon
• shaved ice
• 20 fresh mint sprigs for garnish

Cooking Directions

1. Combine first four ingredients in a large glass container.
2. Stir until sugar dissolves.
3. Cover and let stand 4 to 6 hours.
4. Strain mixture into a 3-quart pitcher, discarding mint.
5. Fill each glass with shaved ice, fill with bourbon mixture.
6. Garnish with fresh mint springs.
