Mini Biscuits with Ham and Cheese

Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup ground cooked ham
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 10 slices provolone cheese
  • additional milk
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 450º 
  2. In a medium size bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, dry mustard, baking soda, onion powder and dried basil until mixed well.
  3. Using a wooden spoon, stir in sour cream, ham and milk, mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead for 30 seconds on a floured surface, then pat into a 7-inch circle. Using a well floured 1-inch scalloped or round cutter, cut into biscuits; re-roll scraps and cut with cutter. Place biscuits 1-inch apart on a lightly greased baking sheet, brush tops with additional milk.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Meanwhile, using a 1-inch cutter, cut into cheese slices. Cut out 30 cheese shapes.
  7. Serve biscuits with cheese and mustard.
