Field Trip- Mountain Log Home Museum
Field Trip~
Mountain Log Home Museum
Circa 1880
Built by Mountain Pioneer Settlers~
Fred and Augusta Bartz
The Mountain Log Home Museum is located on southbound Highway 32/State Trunk Highway 64 in Mountain WI. I have driven past this little Log Home Museum more times than I can count. For some reason I have never stopped in....and I can't explain why! This past week-end my hubby and I decided to stop. This little Log Home Museum in Mountain WI is filled with information and history. The Mountain Historical Society has done a wonderful job keeping everything in this Museum informative, while experiencing a piece of the past. The gentleman we spoke with (shown in the picture) was very knowledgeable and more than happy to spend time with us, explaining and telling us all about the facts and history behind the Mountain Log Home Museum, located in Mountain WI.
Mountain Historical Society~
"In the early 1990's, Paul Elbe learned about a plan to demolish an old house built by Fred and Augusta Bartz in the late 1880's. Knowing it was the first permanent home in Mountain and a structure built of hand shewn log, Paul dismantled it and with the help dismantled it and will the help of many volunteers rebuilt it at it's present site"
Just in case you "Gotta Go"
