Rhubarb Liqueur

On the Menu Today~
{Danish} Rhubarb Liqueur

It's Rhubarb Time and that means it's
Christmas Present Making Time~



The rhubarb is ready so
pick some extra rhubarb this season and
make a batch of Rhubarb Liqueur.



If you make Rhubarb Liqueur now,
it will be ready to give away as gifts this Christmas.










{Danish} Rhubarb Liqueur

Ingredients
  • 4 cups sliced fresh rhubarb
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 bottle vodka
Cooking Directions
  1. Wash and trim rhubarb. Slice into thin slices.
  2. Combine rhubarb and sugar in a large gallon size jar, stir well to combine.
  3. Pour vodka over rhubarb/sugar mixture, mix well. Cover, let the mixture sit in a cool place for 3 to 4 weeks. Stirring once or twice.
  4. Strain the liqueur into a colander over a large bowl. Discard rhubarb. Strain through cheesecloth and pour into bottles. Let age for at least 6 months.
