A recipe that has been around for years..

Spareribs Cantonese

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds meaty pork spareribs or pork loin back ribs, cut into serving pieces
  • 2 cups sweet orange marmalade
  • 1 cups water
  • 1 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • orange wedges
  • green onion brushes
Cooking Directions
  1. Place ribs meaty side down in a shallow roasting pan.
  2. Roast, uncovered in a 425º oven for 30 minutes.
  3. Remove from oven. Carefully drain off fat.
  4. Turn ribs meaty side up.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350º
  6. Continue roasting ribs, covered for 1 hour.
  7. Remove from oven. Carefully drain off fat.
  8. In a medium bowl, combine marmalade, water, soy sauce, chili paste, garlic powder, ginger and pepper. Stir together well. Pour over ribs.
  9. Roast ribs, covered for 30 minutes. Uncover, roast 30 minutes longer, spooning sauce over ribs occasionally.


Serve Spareribs Cantonese with Orange Wedges and
Green Onion Brushes.
