Maple Steel-Cut Oatmeal
This wonderful oatmeal is made with steel cut oats and
maple syrup that I purchased at Bear Paw Scout Camp.
Maple Steel-Cut Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups steel-cut oats
- 6 cups water
- 2 cups almond milk
- 2 tablespoons maple butter*
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup dried cherries
- Maple Butter:
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- Make Maple Butter:
- Mix butter and maple syrup together with an electric mixer until blended.
- Spray the inside of your slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker and stir. Turn slow cooker to low and cook for 6 hours.
- Note: Due to temperature variations, this time is not approximate.
- My oatmeal was done in less than 6 hours.
