Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup oil
Cooking Directions
  1. Grease and flour a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Mix 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and remaining sugar.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine egg, milk and oil; add to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened.
  4. Pour half the batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon mixture. Repeat with remaining batter and cinnamon mixture. Draw a knife through batter to marble.
  5. Bake at 350º for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool.
  7. Wrap and store bread overnight before slicing.
