Bacon Wrapped Cheese Filled Hot Dogs

Ingredients
  • 8 hot dogs, (bun-length, all beef)
  • 4 ounce block pepper-jack cheese, or your favorite cheese
  • 16 slices bacon
  • 2 teaspoons Montreal seasoning, optional
  • 8 hot dog buns, toasted
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425º.
  2. Slice each hot dog lengthwise down the middle, but not all the way through, and not through the ends. You want to make a pocket.
  3. Slice Pepper-Jack cheese from block into small, long rectangles.
  4. Fill the pocket with cheese.
  5. Wrap the hot dog with two slices bacon.
  6. Secure bacon with toothpicks if necessary. Place wrapped hot dogs on a broiler pan or on a rack set over a baking sheet with sides. Sprinkle with seasoning if using.
  7. Bake 25-35 minutes or until cheese is melted, bacon is crisp and hot dogs are hot.
  8. Serve dogs on toasted buns with ketchup, mustard or BBQ sauce.
