Kabobs are great for grilling and
here on Turnips 2 Tangerines,

This recipe proves that any ingredients work well together,
to make up a great and delicious tasting kabob.
In this recipe, we lightly basted the kabobs with
Sweet Baby Ray's {New} Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce,
during the last 10 minutes of grillin' time.

You can substitute Italian sausage, Polish Sausage,
Turkey Sausage, Kielbasa or your sausage in this recipe.
We of course, went with the Wisconsin favorite, the Bratwurst!

Hawaiian BBQ Bratwurst Kabobs

A Delicious Kabob~
Prep time: 10 minutes plus soak time for skewers
Cook time: 16 minutes
Total time: Under 30
Yield: 6 kabobs
Ingredients
  • 6 wooden skewers, soaked in water, juice, white wine, or beer for 4-6 hours or up to 24 hours
  • 4 precooked bratwurst or smoked sausage of your choice
  • 4 limes cut in half or quarters
  • 1 large green pepper, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 medium sweet onion, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 (8 oz) package whole mushrooms, stems removed and wiped clean of any dirt
  • 1 (16 oz) can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray's {New} Hawaiian-Style BBQ Sauce
Cooking Directions
  1. Slice each bratwurst into 3 or 4 pieces.
  2. Thread bratwurst, limes, green pepper, sweet onion, whole mushrooms and pineapple chunks on soaked wooden skewers in any order you want.
  3. For gas grills, simply set the grill burners to medium level, close the grill, and allow the grill to heat up. Rub surface of grill grate with vegetable oil using a grilling brush to prevent the kabobs from sticking. Place the kabobs on the grilling surface, leave space between each to ensure even cooking. Turn the kabobs during cooking to allow all sides to cook evenly.
  4. As a general rule, most kabobs will require approximately 16 minutes to cook, which is 4 minutes for each kabob on all 4 sides.
  5. Brush kabobs with BBQ sauce during last 10 minutes of grilling.
  6. Serve over cooked jasmine rice and pineapple chunks.
