Snickerdoodle Cookies
An old time, classic cookie~
Snickerdoodle Cookies are
a cookie like no other cookie~
Crisp on the outside,
tender and chewy on the inside.
Forming the dough into balls,
then rolling the balls in a mixture of cinnamon-sugar,
gives the cookies the classic taste and appearance,
we have all come to love.
Snickerdoodle Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 3/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Heat oven to 400º
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
- In a medium bowl, mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.
- Mix together 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place balls 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are set. Remove cookies from baking sheet to wire rack.
