I was contacted by Gourmet Warehouse and
They asked me if I would be interested in sampling some of their products.
I was more than happy to sample their products!
I am a huge fan of marinades, barbecue sauces, spice rubs and seasoning mixes.
The products I selected to sample were: Applewood Smoke Spice Rub & Seasoning and
Cherry Jalapeno BBQ Sauce-Mild.

~Applewood Smoke Seasoned Butter~





Applewood Smoke Seasoned Butter

Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon applewood smoke spice rub and seasoning blend
Cooking Directions
  1. Using a fork, blend seasoning into softened butter.
  2. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
This seasoned butter is fantastic on grilled steak, baked potatoes or grilled corn-on-the-cob.

                       
~Yukon Gold Baked Potatoes with Applewood Smoke Seasoned Butter~





Baked Yukon Gold Potatoes

Ingredients
  • 4 yukon gold potatoes
  • 4 teaspoons olive oil

  1. Pierce potatoes twice with a fork.
  2. Place each potato on a piece of foi.l
  3. Drizzle each potato with 1 teaspoon olive oil.
  4. Wrap each potato in foil.
  5. Bake at 350º for 1 hour or until potatoes are fork tender.

Serve with fresh cracked pepper and Applewood Smoke Seasoned Butter

                                         
~Bacon Wrapped Corn on the Cob~








Bacon Wrapped Corn on the Cob

Ingredients
  • 8 ears corn on the cob
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 4 teaspoons applewood smoke spice rub and seasoing

  1. Remove husks and silk from corn.
  2. Generously spread ears of corn with softened butter.
  3. Wrap 1 slice of bacon around each ear of buttered corn.
  4. Place bacon wrapped corn on pieces of foil.
  5. Sprinkle corn with applewood smoke spice rub and seasoning.
  6. Wrap ears of corn in foil.
  7. Bake at 350º for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

*Note: To crisp bacon, open up foil the last 15 minutes of baking
Serve Corn with Applewood Smoke Seasoned Butter


                                            
~Calico Bean Bake~





Calico Bean Bake

Ingredients
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 12 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup cherry jalapeno bbq sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons applewood smoke spice rub and seasoning
  • 1 (16 oz) can butter beans
  • 1 (28 oz) can original baked beans
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can pinto beans
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can great northern beans, drained
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can French-style green beans, drained
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained

  1. Fry ground beef and pork in a medium skillet, add 2 teaspoons applewood smoke spice rub and seasoning. Brown meat until no longer pink inside. Drain off fat and set aside.
  2. Fry bacon in a large skillet until crisp; remove bacon from skillet, drain on paper towels and set aside. Drain off fat in skillet, add chopped onion and cook until tender.
  3. Add brown sugar, ketchup, cherry jalapeno bbq sauce, dry mustard, 1/2 teaspoon applewood smoke spice rub and seasoning; simmer for 15 minutes. Chop bacon.
  4. In a large oven proof bowl or baking dish, empty cans of beans; add browned meat, chopped bacon; stir in ketchup mixture. Mix well.
  5. Cover dish with tin foil and bake at 350º for 1 hour.
  6. Uncover and bake for 30 minutes longer.





~Baked Cherry Jalapeno Baby Back Ribs~








Baked Cherry Jalapeno Baby Back Ribs

Ingredients
  • 4 slabs baby back ribs
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled and left whole
  • 1/2 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon applewood smoke spice rub and seasoing
  • 1 bottle cherry jalapeno bbq sauce
  1. Place ribs in a large roasting pan. Add garlic cloves and sliced onions. Sprinkle with apple wood smoke spice rub and seasoning. Cover pan tightly with tin foil.
  2. Bake at 400º for 1 and 15 minutes. Remove roaster from oven, remove foil and drain off fat.
  3. Reduce heat to 325º
  4. Pour bottle of  Cherry Jalapeno BBQ Sauce over ribs.
  5. Cover pan with foil and bake an additional 45 minutes to an hour longer.
