Beer Battered Crouton Coated Mushrooms

Ingredients
  • 8 ounce package whole mushrooms, wiped clean
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup beer, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon old bay seasoning
  • 2 cups any flavor croutons, crushed
  • vegetable oil for frying
  1. Slice mushrooms in half. Slice mushrooms into thick slices. Whisk together flour, beer, baking powder, and old bay seasoning. Heat oil in a deep cast iron skillet to 375º
  2. Dip sliced mushrooms in batter, then roll in crushed croutons. Drop into hot oil, fry until golden brown, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.


Spicy Mustard Dip

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons spicy mustard, any brand you like
Cooking Directions
  1. Stir together mayonnasie and mustard.
  2. Serve with mushrooms.
