Flavored Butters a.k.a. Compound Butters

Flavored Butter a.k.a. Compound Butter~
One pat of flavored butter can take food to new flavor levels.
One or two pats of flavored butter can add tons of flavor to:
steamed fish, grilled meats, cooked rice, pasta or anything really!
The possibilities are endless.
You can form flavored butters into a log,
cut the flavored butter into shapes or
use a melon baller and
shape butter into small ball shapes.
Store the butter in a small plastic baggie in your refrigerator and
use as you would regular butter.
Herb Butter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley or
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- In a small mixing bowl, combine herb butter ingredients, mix until smooth.
- Great on steamed vegetables, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, rice, grilled meats and fish.
Lemon or Orange Butter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons grated lemon or orange peel
- 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar, optional
- Beat together butter, lemon or orange peel and sugar if using, until smooth.
- Great on steamed or grilled fish, meat or vegetables and rice.
Honey Butter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup honey
- Beat together until smooth.
- Great on muffins, bread or pancakes.
Maple Butter
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- Beat together until smooth.
- Great on pancakes, waffles, french toast and meats.
Cinnamon Butter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- Beat together butter, cinnamon and confectioners' sugar, until smooth.
- Great on muffins, bagels, and rolls.
Pesto Butter
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup of your favorite pesto
- Beat together butter and pesto until smooth.
- Great on cooked pasta, rice, grilled fish and chicken.
