Chocolate Chip Scones
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 6 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into cubes
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the butter and cut in until mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Whisk together buttermilk, eggs and vanilla, add to dry ingredients along with chocolate chips.
- Mix to form dough. Transfer dough to a floured surface. Gently pat into a 8 inch round circle. Cut into wedges. Place wedges on parchment lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 400º for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
