Chocolate Chip Scones

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Cooking Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In medium bowl, whisk together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. Add the butter and cut in until mixture resembles course crumbs.
  3. Whisk together buttermilk, eggs and vanilla, add to dry ingredients along with chocolate chips.
  4. Mix to form dough. Transfer dough to a floured surface. Gently pat into a 8 inch round circle. Cut into wedges. Place wedges on parchment lined baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 400º for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
